> PAMBATO SAFETY TRAINING SEMINAR-"Working without safety is a dead-end job.”Safety is an important concern that should not be neglected and should always be prioritized at all times. In addition, every person should know how to respond on every accident that may happen in the future to prevent depraved situations.

In line with this, last May 31 at Pambato Conference II, 45 Pambato employees from different departments attended the “Safety Training Seminar". The seminar was conducted by Mr. RodinoSenen Cruz, head of Safety Services Red Cross Quezon City Chapter.

The seminar encompass of 3useful parts. The first one is thepresentation of Red Cross’ history as well as its mission and other important information on its boundless services to people. The second part is the introduction of different accidents that may occur such as having a wound, nose bleed, dislocation of bones and cardiac arrest. These accidents are those that can easily be deal with if a person has the appropriate knowledge. Mr. Cruz also taught the employees the proper way of responding on these situations in such a way that it will surely not worsen the condition of a victim. The last part of the seminar is the basic life support lecture demonstration wherein Mr. Cruz demonstrated some first aid management procedures that would be useful on some accidents mentioned above. This includes demonstration on how to treat wounds, CPR process, handling dislocated bones and the like. The said training lasted for six hours thus it was enough to apprise Pambato employees on safety related beneficial information.

> PAMBATO TEAM BUILDING – ANAWANGIN COVE, ZAMBALES--Many of us have seen that "Nobody's Perfect - But A Team Can Be" and we have seen a team produce a quality and quantity of work far higher than the sum of what the separate members could have produced on their own. It follows that in Pambato where priority is given to the selection, training and development of teams, to their psychology, motivation and composition. The people at Pambato are its most important resource. Reliable, wide ranging information about their behaviour will be the key to successful enterprise leadership in the coming years.

Last April 09, 2011 was the recently concluded Anawangin Cove Team building of Pambato Central Office. Around 3:00 o’clock in the morning Pambato Central Office employees were very much excited and exhilarated of the Team Building Activity held at Brgy. Pundaquit, San Antonio, Zambales – Anawangin Cove. It was participated by 92 employees with 2 buses during the trip. Numerous activities were played and enjoyed by all employees. The said team building was divided into five teams namely: Team Eagle, Team Dove, Team Sparrow, Team Penguin and Team Pigeon – headed by the energetic and active Department heads of Pambato. Different games were played during the team building like Tag of war, Frisbee, Volleyball, Swimming, Sack race and a lot more. Were Team Eagle was the overall champion of the games.

> PAMBATO FIRE DRILL A “SUCCESS”--AT APPROXIMATELY 05:00pm yesterday afternoon (February 28, 2011), union members, management team and the Emergency Response Team of Pambato Cargo Forwarder, Inc. had to evacuate the premises because of “a fire” which started at the ‘warehouse of Retiro’ – but it was all a mock-up exercise. Sixty-four union members, thirty-two task-basis employees and more than twenty management members quickly, but in an orderly manner, scurried off the warehouse compound and onto the neighboring field which is the designated safe area after hearing one long ring of the bell. Within minutes, one fire brigade team and a fire truck from the Quezon City Police District- Laloma Fire Station, responded, “quickly put out the blaze” and “rescued” three employees. Scores of emergency personnel were also on location, including members of the Pambato Emergency Response Team, Officers of the Management, task basis employees, union representatives and branch employees was also present. After interacting with some of the employees involved Capt. Arnel Ramilo of QCPD- Fire Station was pleased with the operation and noted that it was important to carry out such simulation exercises so that they would know how to handle a situation with a real fire at any time especially the warehouse operates on a 24-hour basis. > CUSTOMER HANDLING TRAINING-SEMINAR-An excellent and innovative approach of handling both internal and external customers we’re the first hand training-seminar for this year as Pambato highly values great customer satisfaction. Held simultaneously last January 2011 at PCFI Head Office and Retiro- Warehouse was the recently concluded customer handling training-seminar attended by all employees of the company. The seminar was initiated and headed by Nicky Cabrejas, head of the Human Resources and Administration Department of PCFI together with his staff’s. Its main objective is to outline the process of handling customer complaints and identify customer needs. During the seminar, innovative approach on meeting and handling customers we’re raised as well as detailed discussions and presentations. It was also a given fact during the training that customer satisfaction is always the top most consideration of all PCFI employees.
